Yukon Women in Trades and Technology

Bursary Fund 

PROGRAM:  Yukon Women in Trades and Technology Bursaries are being established to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities in the area of the apprenticable trades for women by providing assistance to applicants in their quest for training at a recognized training institution.

ELIGIBILITY:  To be eligible you must:

  1. Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant
  2. Plan to register as a full-time student, in the 2009 or 2010 school year at an accredited technical training institute in the Yukon.
  3. Have not previously received a bursary from the Yukon Women in Trades and Technology Bursary Fund.
  4. Be a Yukon Resident and provide proof of residency.
  5. Be a woman over the age of 19.  

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  1. The original application form must be completed, legible in black ink, within the spaces provided and must be mailed to the Yukon WITT office no later than August  1, 2009 for the fall session or no later than February 1, 2010 for the spring session.
  2. You must attach a photocopy of proof of citizenship.  Acceptable proof is a Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, a certificate of Canadian citizenship or a Canadian Immigration Record.
  3. You must attach a copy of proof of acceptance to the accredited institution.
  4. You must provide proof of Yukon residency (i.e. copy of Yukon Health Care Card or Yukon Electrical statement).

NOTES:

  • Do not submit resumes or references
  • The responsibility for the completed application form rests with the applicant; every section in its entirety must be completed.
  • Yukon Women in Trades and Technology reserves the right to use recipient’s name and/or photograph for promotional purposes.
  • All information on the application will be held in strictest confidence.
