9th Annual Young Women
Exploring Trades Conference
November 27st, 2009 at Yukon College

What is it? A one-day conference at Yukon College for 120 grade 8 girls from Whitehorse and rural communities to provide hands-on experience with different trades in a fun and supportive environment.

Workshops: Workshops are 1 hour and 15 minutes long and are offered in these trades (subject to change):

• Aviation
• Carpentry
• Electrical 
• Culinary
• Glass Making
• Metal Sculpture
• Painting
• Plumbing

Each workshop is designed to produce something tangible for the girls to take away, to the extent practical. Each participant will take part in a total of three workshops.
