Leading in the Trades

Who needs nourishing in the trades?

In the recent years, YWITT has leveraged their grassroots connections in the trades community to encourage and nourish women and gender diverse folks to imagine themselves as change leaders and take on leadership roles in the trades. Leadership in this context is not limited to (and in fact moves beyond) formal leadership to include informal roles such as mentors, allies, workshop facilitators, and advocates in the workplace.

MEETUPS

FOR ADULTS

YWITT hosts meet-ups throughout the year for tradespeople, their communities and families to build connections outside of work. Keep an eye on our Eventbrite page to see our next meet-up!

FOR LEADERS

Strong Leaders Program

Spring 2026

Workers are increasingly making employment decisions based on workplace culture, stability, and development opportunities rather than compensation alone.

The solution?

Great leadership and mentorship are key to keeping the talent pipeline going and growing in the trades.

YWITT is offering two programs this spring designed to develop great leaders for your worksite.

This program will offer an opportunity to learn from other leaders and aspiring leaders in the skilled trades, and create a network of peer to peer support. This program is completely free, with travel support available.
