Apply for the Work Boot Bursary

At YWITT, we are committed to decreasing barriers and increasing access to skilled trades careers.

 

Through our Work Boot fund we offer a one-time bursary to support in buying a pair of work boots or PPE for the job site. Whether it is a school program (pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship) or for work, we can support you with a one time boost of up to 150$ for your gear.

The Work Boot Bursary supports up to 5 individuals per calendar year. 

Intake deadlines are January 15 , May 15, September 15, and December 15

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant

  • Plan to register as a student, start an apprenticeship program or work on a job site requiring work boots

  • Have not previously received this bursary from the Yukon Women in Trades and Technology Bursary Fund.

  • Be a Yukon Resident and provide proof of residency.

  • Self-identify as a woman or NB individual

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

                                        The  application form must be completed and submitted with all relevant documentation

 

                                                                         Please include a receipt for your boot purchase


                      You must provide proof of Yukon residency (i.e. copy of Yukon Health Care Card or Yukon Electrical statement).

NOTES:

Do not submit resumes or references
The responsibility for the completed application form rests with the applicant; every section in its entirety must be completed.
Yukon Women in Trades and Technology reserves the right to use recipient’s name and/or photograph for promotional purposes.
